“I authorized just last week a number of things to be done so that we can, hopefully, get to the bottom of this and hold people accountable as they should be.” (Eric Holder on Monday)
The above statement by Attorney General Holder on Monday was in response to the 3rd set of stolen documents released by Julian Assuage on his website Wikileaks. This is not comforting. Why on earth is the US Government just now acting to stop classified document leaks? This is the THIRD publishing of classified documents by Julian Assuage. Not to mention that before the release each time Mr. Assuage warned that he was going to publish them.
It seems to me that after the first WARNING policies should have been implemented. There seems to be a pattern that has emerged when it comes to certain areas like National Security as well as disasters like the BP spill our government leaders up to and including the President are slow to react and then when they do act are seemingly clueless.
We all know that no one or no government can plan for every contingency, however that being said, I should not even have this as a topic to write about. After the first Warning by Mr. Assuage the government should have acted; the first release should have been the very latest time they implemented new security. It is irresponsible at best but more likely completely incompetent that the US Government is just acting now.
Each of those who serve We the People took an oath to protect you and I and this country from enemies Foreign and Domestic. I am not filled with a sense of security that they are capable of doing that. This situation brings to mind the line made famous by Bill Engval, "Here's Your Sign".

Today I am thankful:
1. That there was no wind, while it was brutally cold at least there was very little if any windchill.
2. That although I woke up 45 minutes later than normal I still had time for my morning coffee and got to work at the time I wanted to start.
3. That my new job is affording me the opportunity to learn what kind of manager I am as well as learning management areas I need to improve in.
4. That I might just be acquiring a four legged companion, not sure yet.
5. For, "God, be merciful to me because people are chasing me, the battle has pressed me all day long. My enemies have chased me all day; there are many proud people fighting me. When I am afraid I will trust You. I praise God for His Word. I trust God, so I am not afraid. What can human beings do to me?~Psalm 56:1-4
